CPA Samuel K. Maritim

Founder & Managing Partner

Briefly described Sam is an Auditor, Consultant, Business Adviser, Trainer and Author. Sam is a qualified and Practicing Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Advanced Auditing and Accounting.
He is an alumni of the Strathmore Enterprise Development Centre in Strathmore Business School, Nairobi, Kenya.

Sam worked with the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation, a Development Finance Institution (DFI), before voluntarily resigning into full time private consulting business at Maritimes Associates LLP.

Sam also an ISO 9001-2008 Certified Auditor, has hands on experience leading a team of capable auditors/consultants on Internal Control Assessments, Expenditure Verifications (ISRE), Corporate Finance exercises, and Business Valuations and Capacity Assessments having successfully overseen and completed such assignments for a number of clients. Sam is the Chairman of Confer Ltd and a Director of Olive Streams Investment Ltd. He served as a Director of the Diamond Chapter of Business Networking International (BNI), Nairobi Chapter for two terms. He is of Association of Family Business Enterprises (AFBE). Sam is a member of CITAM Valley Road Church and a golfing member of Kericho Golf Club and Vet Lab Sports Club in Nairobi.

CPA John K. Ilia

Tax Partner

CPA John Ilia is a qualified and Practicing Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and holds a Master of Business Administration from Moi University. CPA John is a Registered Tax Agent based on the Tax Procedures Act.

He previously worked with the Kenya Revenue Authority and later joined one of the Big Four Audit Firms in Kenya before finally joining Maritimes Associates as a Tax Partner. John, has had a hands on experience advising on complex tax matters and resolving issues to do with tax litigations at the TP for a number of clients.

Consultants

To beef up operations of Maritimes and where specialized skills are required, the Firm makes use of industry consultants with professional qualifications, who come in with such skills to work for Maritimes. These consultants work under the supervision of Maritimes Partners appropriately.

Staff

Our staff selection criteria give priority to qualified and experienced Certified Public Accountants with commensurate level of experience. Staff are trained and core attributes required of them include good attitudes and work ethics. All our staff and partners commit to professional ethics..

Interns

In an attempt to support and develop the profession, Maritimes, through the ICPAK TAPEK Program provides internship programs to students of CPA courses for industrial attachments. During this period the students are exposed to key industry issues and guided by more experienced and knowledgeable staff in the relevant field. Our internship program also gives opportunities to University students prior to graduation.
